Over the weekend, Tangent Scale Models released their third production run of HO scale Greenville 86’ Boxcars for immediate sale.
Paint schemes for this latest release include five all-new liveries as well as a reprise of a few of the most popular road names from earlier runs, but with new variations and new road numbers depending upon the road as follows:
Baltimore and Ohio (B&O – “Original 1969”) in dark blue featuring the iconic “Capitol Dome” logo and “Cushion Underframe” script lettering.
Burlington (CB&Q – “Original 1-1969”) in the as-delivered premerger green with large “BURLINGTON” lettering in white.
Erie Lackawanna (EL – “Original 1965”) – Brown with large E-L diamond.
Missouri Pacific (MP – “Original 1968) – As-delivered in MP brown with the buzzsaw logo.
Wabash (WAB – “Original 1964/1965+”) – Dark blue with large Wabash lettering and WAB Flag. Running boards and high ladders removed and lowered hand brake for a circa 1965 appearance.
Penn Central (PC – “Original as-delivered 10-68”) Unlike the first production from Tangent representing former PRR cars repainted into Penn Central’s Deepwater Green, this release replicates Greenville cars delivered directly to the Penn Central in October of 1968, in the same green, but with commensurately different artwork and details.
Conrail (CR) “Quality 1992+” – Conrail brown repaints with the “Conrail Quality” logo. Rerun with same road numbers.
Detroit, Toledo and Ironton (DT&I – “Original 1971) – Baby Blue car body with large DT&I lettering and compass logo with new road numbers.
Southern ( SOU – “Original 1977”) – Freight Car Brown with the “Southern Gives a Green Light to Innovations” slogan with new road numbers.
B&O in dark blue featuring the iconic “Capitol Dome” logo and “Cushion Underframe” script lettering is one of the new offerings.
