Micro-Trains Releases Pullman-Standard Covered Hoppers

N Scale (1:160)One of the most anticipated new models in recent memory is now arriving from Micro-Trains — the Pullman-Standard 2003cf PS-2 2-Bay Covered Hopper.  Pullman-Standard produced thousands of these cars for a multitude of railroads and leasing companies beginning in the mid-1950s.  PS-2s were a family of freight cars manufactured by Pullman-Standard.  The PS-2 family included covered hoppers of varying capacities tailored for the transport of different commodities.  The model that MTL is producing is a PS-2 covered hopper of 2003 cubic foot capacity with two discharge bays. The 2003cf 2-Bay PS-2 was commonly found carrying cement and other heavy granular commodities.

Designed from the ground up as an all-new state-of-the-art model, Micro-Trains’ PS-2 2-bay covered hopper features finely scaled ladders, stirrup steps and end cage details, separately applied see-through plastic running boards and brake wheel, eight round roof hatches, 33-inch diameter metal wheelsets with low-profile flanges, body-mounted MTL knuckle couplers in scale-width draft gear housings and more.  The first road name to be released for Micro-Trains’ PS-2 2-bay covered hopper is Great Northern GN 71470 finished in light gray with black lettering and a red “Rocky” herald.  The SKU for this release is 095 00 011 for $45.95 each MSRP.   Available now at your favorite authorized dealer or direct while supplies last.
