Walthers Acquires Chooch Enterprises

Wm K. Walthers, Inc. has acquired all assets of Chooch Enterprises, including all tooling and inventory of the Chooch resin-cast scenery and flexible scenery detail product portfolio. Walthers will continue to market and sell the products under the Chooch name.

“We feel this product line has found a great home with us here at Walthers,” said Stacey Walthers Naffah, president of Walthers, Inc. “We appreciate and value the creativity of Mike O’Connell and the Chooch product line. As a significant distributor of the Chooch line, Walthers is uniquely poised to take on ownership of the portfolio and put the energy of the Walthers brand behind it, bringing these exceptional products forward.”

Chooch was incorporated in 1974 and became one of the first model railroad companies to offer polyurethane resin scenery and white metal products. Over the years it’s expanded its product offering to include adhesives, paints and flexible wall products. —Railroad Model Craftsman Staff.
