Caprice Sedan

Believe it or not, Third generation Caprices and Impalas such as the Rapido model were actually downsized versions of the second-generation cars, which were the largest Chevrolet sedans ever built.

Taxis

Taxi, fire and police Impalas come equipped with utilitarian “dog dish” wheel covers as appropriate. Taxi models also feature a sign on the roof.

Station Wagon

Caprice Station wagons feature simulated wire wheel covers and simulated “woody” side trim just like many of the real ones did.   Note also the luggage rack mounted atop the roof.  Each model comes packaged in a clear plastic jewel case also suitable for display by collectors.

Emergency Vehicles

The police and fire Impalas come equipped with a Federal Signal Corporation Aerodynic light bar pre-installed on the roof. Included also with each police/fire version are two additional light bars of different styles, extra red or blue lenses for the light bars, a push bumper for the front and spotlights for the A-pillars that can be fitted by the modeler.  The light bars are non-lighted.  Police cars are available in this run in two different color schemes – blue with white stripe or a black and white version.  A separate accessory pack of just the light bars, spotlights and push bumper is available separately as Rapido #102138 for $9.95 per package.
