SP owned just one Budd RDC – the SP #10. This car first entered service on passenger locals between Oakland and Sacramento. Beginning in May 1959, the SP 10 was reassigned to the Northwestern Pacific Railroad (a SP subsidiary) where it ran as the “Redwood” operating between Willits and Eureka, California until 1971.
