A new name has entered the model railroad manufacturing world. Heritage Rail Models, LLC has announced its launch as a manufacturer dedicated to quality model railroad products, along with its acquisition of the assets and intellectual property of ROKA Prototype Models.
In a release, HRM says they are built on the principle of preserving the heritage of the hobby “through historical accuracy, thoughtful engineering and exceptional customer support, while having fun along the way.” The company says that idea shapes both its name and its philosophy, honoring the past while building for the future.
Under the deal, HRM takes over ROKA’s assets and intellectual property, including its product line. HRM says ROKA preorders for the HO scale Evans Side-Slider Boxcars will be honored, with delivery expected late this year and that it will contact those customers about their orders.
HRM operates out of Georgetown, Tennessee, and intends to bring new tooling to several scales and to revive older favorites from ROKA, Scale America, Des Plaines Hobbies and other lines. Product availability, upcoming releases, dealer arrangements and other company news will be announced over the next several months.
The company is led by Matt Gaudynski, who has worked on rolling stock and locomotive projects. Chuck Ciaccio handles sales and marketing, and Brian Fons manages business operations.
