HO Scale (1:87)At the behest of Chrysler Motor Company, which sought to load its popular minivans onto all three decks of a trilevel auto carrier, orders were soon placed by ten different member railroads of Trailer Train for a trilevel car that stood a full 14 inches taller than prior cars, matching the maximum allowed height of a loaded intermodal double-stack car. Given TTQX reporting marks, this new auto rack design stood a full 20 feet and two inches above the rail. By the 2010s, these 1,090 cars were eventually retired or converted back to standard 19’0” height auto racks.
