Welcome to Craftsman Tool Chest

In the hobby of model railroading, we are all constantly building our knowledge and skills to construct better looking, smoother operating, and more accurate models. In many cases, having the right tools makes all the difference. With that in mind, we have developed "Craftsman Tool Chest" as a venue to highlight the many different tools available to the hobbyist and to demonstrate their features and uses.

Each installment in this ongoing series will feature a specific modeling challenge and show some of the tools commonly used to successfully complete the project. Over time we will feature not only some of the more esoteric and specialized tools but also cover the basics that should be a standard part of every model builders workbench. Each article is designed to answer many of the common questions we all encounter in the pursuit of our hobby.
