ScaleTrains has announced a new run of its popular HO scale “Rivet Counter” EMD SD40-2 locomotives. The new run includes new road numbers for four previously produced paint schemes as well as the company’s first-ever Rivet Counter product painted for a Mexican prototype.

The new run, expected to hit the market next winter, will include locomotives painted for the Santa Fe (Blue and yellow), the Ferrocarriles Nacionales de México or NdeM (blue and orange), Milwaukee Road (orange and black with the Hiawatha logo introduced in the 1980s), Norfolk Southern (black and white with the Admiral cab) and CSX’s rebuilt SD40-3 (blue and yellow with the square cab).

“The Rivet Counter series SD40-2 is the definitive HO Scale model of EMD’s best-selling diesel locomotive.  Our model combines smooth operating performance with unparalleled railroad, road number, and era-specific details,” the company writes of its Rivet Counter series.
