The Hoosegow O scale Kit

The Hoosegow (Jail) Kit is a small town 2 room jail consisting of an office area approx. 8x8 feet and a jail cell approx. the same size. The whole building doesn't measure more than 9 feet wide by 17 feet long. 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" in the Real World. It stands 12' high on the flat foundation and 16' on the stone cast foundation. 4" in the Real World. This model features aged brick walls both exterior and interior. Interior partition wall brick faced both sides. Jail bars on the cell windows and in the partition between the office and the cell. Double hung windows in the office and a removable roof if you care to model it that way. Double thick brick walls are detailed both outside and inside. Two different ways to foundation this kit: A flat foundation piece if you want to place the Hoosegow on a flat lot; A Hydrocal Casting of a stone foundation that raises the Hoosegow 3-1/2' high so it can be set into a hill or sloping lot. Fine laser cut jail bars for the windows and also one for the partition between the office and the cell. resin cast stove pipe, two bunks in the cell, JAIL sign for the front, Real Cedar Shake shingles for the roof, 64 page highly detailed instruction manual with many photos and 'how to' pointers.

Transfer Barge

This small transfer barge is based on one used by the Canadian Pacific ca. 1890-1910s. It is typical of the small wood transfer barges used on inland waters. This barge will accommodate a maximum of six 36' cars with the double rail configuration. As with all large wood barges, king posts and hogging cables provided the necessary support. A crude wood ladder provided access to the cable turnbuckles for tension adjustments. Scuttle hatches allowed access into the barge interior for maintenance and the mandatory bilge pumping. This kit allows the modeler to use their own desired rails and gauge (standard or narrow). Built for double track, a single standard gauge will also work. Rail may be powered by soldering a small phosphor bronze pickup to the rail (makes for an easy connection when the barge is butted up to transfer bridge). Hague This new volume covers the never-before published history of the D&TSL from 1897 through its inclusion in the Grand Trunk Corporation in 1981 with the final chapter bringing the reader up through 2011. This 264 page hardbound with dust jacket contains 271 b&w and color photos, stories, anecdotes, drawings, complete track diagrams, statistics,complete rosters of equipment, Dispatcher's Train Sheets and was compiled for both the serious historian and the modeler. Since 1903 the Shore Line's ownership was evenly divided between its two owners the Toledo, St. Louis & Western (Clover Leaf), which later became the Nickel Plate and the Grand Trunk Railway (later, Grand Trunk Western). Additionally, this book contains a listing of all structures and bridges and for you modelers a list of every on-line industry ever served by the railroad. The Little Nickel Plate, produced most of its revenue hauling bituminous coal north from its Toledo connections during the winter months and finished autos and auto parts south from the auto plants of southern Michigan. Today this road is part of the Canadian National system and continues hauling coal to southeastern Michigan.
